Does anyone else think this article contains POV? --Maurice45 (talk) 15:23, 17 June 2008 (UTC)[reply]

This article definitely exhibits prejudice by omission of details as much as anything else. I recently watched a very informative three-part BBC2 series on Ghandi which included an interview with a Dalit activist and spokesperson (the series is not easily accessed on line, but the interview appears in the 3rd part: [1]). She stated that Ghandi's use of the term "Harijan" was indeed harmful in the long run to their search for equality and self-respect. Jelly Catullus (talk) 14:54, 22 April 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Original meaning of the term Haijan in Gujarat[edit]

I have not been able to confirm the claim that Narsi Mehta used the term harijan to imply the children of devadasis. A search of Gujarati Books on-line suggests that it was used for any devotee.Malaiya (talk) 04:17, 6 April 2018 (UTC)[reply]
