Untitled[edit]

I think you should use the irish rugby flag rather than the Rupublic of Ireland Tricolour as the Irish Rugby team is a team inclusive of both NI and ROI. The shamrock and white back ground is far more suitable, next to players names.

Agreed. This was voted on some time ago and the popular decision was that players from both 'Irelands' should be represented with a Shamrock rather than a national flag. You can copy the code from Munster Rugby.GordyB 14:11, 14 February 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Plural?[edit]

It would have to be "Harlequin Football Club" and not just "Harlequin". A lot of the older rugby clubs are "Football Club" in the official title but nobody would call them that. For 99% of people in England, "football" means soccer and only soccer and they wouldn't understand why a rugby club has "football" in its title.GordyB (talk) 08:26, 18 July 2008 (UTC)[reply]

I rewrote the cheating section, which looked like a thinly veiled attacked as the Bloodgate scandal. Just one declaration, I'm a Leinster fan so I know theres a slight COI. As a Harlequin, I would like to see Bloodgate recede from prominence with the passing of time. In my view a mention of it still belongs in the opening paragraph, but that paragraph is now factually incorrect. It reads "Harlequins were the 2011–12 Aviva Premiership Champions. The club was later brought into disrepute though its abuse of the blood-substitution .." (emphasis added). I suggest replacing this with something along the lines of: Quins reputation tarnished in 2009 by Bloodgate, worked hard to re-establish their good name since and were crowned champions in 2011-12. league table error[edit]

Improving this Article - Former Notable Players[edit]

I believe that there is considerable room to improve this article, it is imbalanced towards recent events and minor considerations (such as past sponsorships and ground sharing) at the expense of current information and the history of the club. After two years of a note having been added requesting attention, a reasonable place to start seems to be the 'Former Notable Players' section. I would therefore like to suggest the following criteria for inclusion:

1) England Captains, 2) Club Captains, 3)Rugby World Cup Winners, 4) British and Irish Lions, 5) Notable Overseas Players (Int. Captain, >50 Int. Caps, >100 Aps for Quins), 6) Notable Persons of importance within the Club (A. Stoop, N. Duncombe, T. Diprose, etc), 7) Other Notable Persons (Sir C. Woodward, W. Wakefield MP, D. Bader, etc).

Formation and early years[edit]

This section says that the name change in 1870 caused the split in membership that resulted in Wasps being formed, but the Wasps Wikipedia page plus multiple sources online state that Wasps were formed three years prior to this. Harlequins Foundation[edit]

The Harlequins Foundation was set up in 2015 as an independent charity (1161838).

They deliver two flagship programmes: Switch – a women and girls project which aims to develop female leaders, and METTLE – a project that develops skills and knowledge to improve physical health and mental well-being for 9-12 year olds. The METTLE pilot was evaluated by St Mary’s University and the programme was found to have had a positive impact on young people’s self-confidence, wellbeing, decision making and mental resilience.

In September 2018, The Harlequins Foundation and The Movember Foundation announced a long-term partnership that will see them team up for a joint initiative committed to help rugby fans, and the wider community, address the issues around men’s health and provide information and guidance on what to do when mental health suffers.

The foundation delivers the Premiership Rugby Funded Programmes: Move like a Pro, Project Rugby, Tackling Health and Hitz.

I have blanked this section twice now. It was agreed on the WP:RU [2] talk page to not have these lists on Premiership Club pages as there is no inclusion or exclusion criteria, in comparsion to the Rugby World Cup, Lions tours or whatever sections that all do have those.
