rename needed[edit]

If this article is supposed to be discussing the pistol that is used as the MP symbol in the US Army, it needs to be renamed to Harper's Ferry Model 1806, and reflect the fact that that pistol was a .54 caliber weapon. Information from the US Army Military Police School history and symbols page. [1]--Vidkun (talk) 23:19, 12 March 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Harpers Ferry Model 1805 vs. Harpers Ferry Model 1806[edit]

This article states that there was no difference in the design from 1805 through 1808 (I am not an expert and don't know whether this is so.)

But there may be a problem in the Military Police Corps (US Army) section on heraldic items which also says Model 1805. — Robert Greer (talk) 18:02, 7 October 2010 (UTC)[reply]
