The Village of Harrison, Wisconsin[edit]

Hi-The Wisconsin Secretary of State Doug LaFollette certified the Villlage of Harrison on March 8, 2013 and elections for the village officers will be on April 23, 2013. Town of Harrison]. I am not sure about the unincorporated community of Harrison, Wisconsin what will happen to that since it is located elsewhere in the town. I will let Rockfang and Royalbroil know. An additional thought: there is precedent in Wisconsin about communities in Wisconsin with multiple names. In Douglas County, Wisconsin you have the city, village, and town of Superior all within a few miles of each other and the city and village of Pewaukee. You will probably have the town of Harrison, the village of Harrison, and the unincorporated community of Harrison is the same county-Calumet County. I copied the previous comments from a user talk page. I think that Harrison, Calumet County, Wisconsin should be a disambiguation page. The new village should be at Harrison (village),Calumet County, Wisconsin. The article for the former community (ghost town) named Harrison should not be at Harrison (community), Calumet County, Wisconsin since the former community and village were/are communities. How about naming it either Harrison (ghost town), Calumet County, Wisconsin or Harrison (unincorporated community), Calumet County, Wisconsin? I am open to what ever is decided about the name. GNIS has not issue an GNIS ID for the new village yet. Question Royalbroil-where the present unincorporated community of Harrison, Wisconsin in Calumet County-is there a sign indicated the unincorporated community's existence? The village has an article now at Harrison (village), Wisconsin, so the disambiguation issues should probably be settled. The village is the only village so named in Wisconsin, so I think it's fine where it is. The town should be moved to Harrison (town), Calumet County, Wisconsin, with Harrison, Calumet County, Wisconsin redirecting to the disambiguation page at Harrison, Wisconsin. As for the other community, unfortunately the GNIS didn't said anything about my comments that it's probably a ghost town now when I asked them about the village. I think the newspaper article is sufficient evidence for this, though, so it can probably be moved to Harrison (ghost town), Calumet County, Wisconsin unless anyone objects. Something I missed the first time: what do we do about Darboy, Wisconsin? According to this map, the part of it in Calumet County got incorporated into the new village, so it's half unincorporated and half not now. TheCatalyst31 ^{Reaction•Creation} 22:20, 6 April 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Part of Darboy is in the town of Buchanan in Outagamie County-maybe we can leave that part of Darboy as unincorporated in Outagamie County. The Town of Buchanan makes refrence to Darboy in its town website. Also I added the GNIS to the Darboy, Wisconsin article. Thank you-RFD (talk) 22:32, 6 April 2013 (UTC)[reply]

I agree with moving the town's article to Harrison (town), Calumet County, Wisconsin and keeping the village article at Harrison (village), Wisconsin. Harrison, Calumet County, Wisconsin could be redirected to Harrison, Wisconsin or be it's own page. I agree renaming the former unincorporated community to Harrison (ghost town), Calumet County, Wisconsin. I recently saw several old county maps of Calumet Count (from official sources) which identify Harrison at the spot of the former community, so I could use them to cite the location too if needed. The remainder of the town of Harrison is quite large and it's unlikely that the new village would annex it all within the next century. I don't know the situation off the top of my head, but if all of Darboy in Calumet County was used to form the village then the Darboy article should be only about the portion in the county in Outagamie County. When I read the map that you cite, I don't agree that it says that Harrison incorporates all of the community of Darboy. The towns are in blue and the villages/cities are in black. All of the cities and villages except New Holstein are shown in pink. The new area for the village of Harrison isn't shown in pink. The map shows the ghost town as the location of the ghost town.
