Photo of Hughes[edit]

The profile of Hughes for this article says Governor Hughes is speaking in 1988. Hughes was no longer governor is 1988. He may well have been speaking in this photo at that time, but governor he was not. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 96.231.137.225 (talk) 21:55, 16 June 2017 (UTC)[reply]

The event actually took place in 1985, and I updated the caption on the Hughes Wikipedia page, and the Wikimedia Commons photo description. The photo is mislabeled in the original source. I know this because Governor Chuck Robb of Virginia took part in the same ceremony, and he left office in 1986. If he was out of office in 1986, he wasn't taking part in a 1988 ceremony.
