This article is not spam. The newest version of this article is written from a neutral standpoint, and contains notable outside references. Please see comment by veteran editor JamesBWatson on my talk page. I have also taken the advice of other editors. There are no peacock terms, or PR-speak. I am in no way related to the company. Please review and remove the speedy deletion on this article. If you feel the title should be changed to "Harveys (handbag design and manufacturer)" to better explain the purpose of the article, please do so. You may not be a paid employee but it is disingenuous of you to suggest that you are are uninvolved with the company. In the previously deleted version you used your own interviews with the Harveys as references and the fact of you creating this Wikipedia page was trumpeted on the Harvey blog [1] (entry for 7th February, deleted after the original page was deleted as spam) from which it was clear that you are on first name terms with the founders/owners. nancy 22:13, 18 February 2011 (UTC)

Nancy... Please show me a line from the article that is not written from a neutral standpoint. I am the person that wrote the Harveys Seatbeltbag article. This is completely unfair. I am simply a customer. I have never met the owners, nor am I associated with them. I have a vast amount of knowledge of the brand as I have known about the brand for seven years. To assume that this article is not written from a neutral standpoint is nonsense. I did not site my own articles, and i used well known outside references. This piece is not advertisement at all as other editors have approved my writing in the past. I am taking every effort to follow wikipedias guidelines and although in the past i have not, the article as it stands now has notability, references and is written as an encyclopedic piece. Please reverse the notices you placed, as they do not seem fair. How do you expect someone to write about something they have no knowledge of. And also changing the name of the article is wrong as they are not "Retailers" Harveys The Original Seatbeltbag dis a design and manufacturing company. Thank You for you understanding on this matter. The company name is "Harveys The Original SeatbeltBag" The posting on the Blog was simply to give me credit where credit due because the company had no knowledge of me writing the article. I have just double checked the contents of the deleted article and my memory has accurate. You cited two of your own interviews as references. I have copied the relevant text from the deleted copy but redacted your full name: Q******, S*** (2009-11-11), An Interview with Harveys SeatbeltBags Founder and Owner Melanie Harvey and Q******, S*** (2009-11-08), An Interview with Harveys Seatbelt Bags Founder-Owner Dana Harvey. You were also described as "the lovely S*** Q******" on Melanie Harvey's deleted blog post reporting your fabulous work in creating the original article.

All this does seem to suggest that your assertion "I am simply a customer. I have never met the owners, nor am I associated with them." is not wholly accurate. Conflict of interest need not be a problem if handled correctly but you are very much making it one by not being transparent about your associations. nancy 10:06, 19 February 2011 (UTC)

The Harveys keep in contact with many of their customers. They hold events in California (i live in New York) and meet customers all the time. They interact with their customers constantly. It's what makes the company what it is. They have a strong connection to the customers. I interviewed them, not in person mind you, and did not use those articles in the current piece. For those articles i simply asked questions and directly put their responses in the interview. I followed wikipedias guidelines and took them out of the newest version. That's why there were in the deleted version and not the current. I don't see what that has to do with anything. If I gathered the information and wrote a great wikipedia article than what difference does it make? The blog post, if you got a chance to read it was talking about how they had NO idea i was even doing it, so that in itself shows that i was doing it independently. Please realize that i am doing this because a lot of people want this article to be written. There are tons of women out there that will use it as a reference and that is the whole point of wikipedia. Thank You SJayQ (talk) 13:40, 19 February 2011 (UTC)

According to Wikipedia:Conflict of interest "Editing in an area in which you have professional or academic expertise is not, in itself, a conflict of interest. Using material you yourself have written or published is allowed within reason, but only if it is relevant and conforms to the content policies. Excessive self-citation is strongly discouraged. When in doubt, defer to the community's opinion. In any case, citations should be in the third person and should not place undue emphasis on your work, giving proper due to the work of others, as in a review article."

I took out these references in past revisions and they should not be used against the article as it stands now.

If you see fit please remove the conflict of interest tag, Also please help me to understand why this article is considered advertisement. Other editors in the past have not seen it that way. Thank You. SJayQ (talk) 17:20, 26 February 2011 (UTC)

I am removing the advertisement tag per Wikipedia:Tagging pages for problems as the reasoning for this tag was not discussed here in the talk page by the editor placing it (only COI), and a reasonable amount of time has passed. Furthermore, guidelines were followed to avoid a tag of this nature. Title

With no objections from anyone and a considerable length of time passing I have changed the name of the article to Harveys SeatbeltBags as it is the name that the subject is most known by. SJayQ (talk) 17:33, 23 March 2011 (UTC)

Location edits

I have edited the locations to reflect changes made in early 2015. The previously mentioned Santa Ana location closed and a new location was opened attached to the Harveys factory in Santa Ana, CA.
