Reason for creation of this page[edit]
People often omit "the" (definite article) in search subjects. In Wikipedia if you type "haunted manor" and the opera title is "The Haunted Manor", Wikipedia won't find it. I tried. Hence the need for redirections here. Similarly, the full English title needs to be there as a redirection else you'd have to know how to spell the Polish. Similarly for Straszny Dwor (without the accent) else Wikipedia doesn't find that either.
I put the base English language article under the Polish title because Polish is the original language of the opera libretto, and performances of the Polish version of the opera are discussed in English under that title, whereas productions & performances of the English version of the libretto are (reasonably) usually — or at least often — discussed under the English title.
This page (Haunted Manor) was supposed to be a redirect for people interested in Straszny Dwór — perhaps the best loved opera (at least it is one of the two such) by Poland's greatest opera composer. Indeed, Straszny Dwór is very possibly Poland's best loved opera ever.
What's more, it's one of the operas in the Opera Project. Therefore there's no way it fails to be notable.
The intended redirect code creating the page was made at 2007-05-10T19:39:49 and the "(Requesting speedy deletion)" was added at 2007-05-10T19:40:41 by SquidSK so I had just 52 seconds to spot that I had pasted the wrong string — the redirect title instead of the redirection code — before SquidSK steamed in!
