Number and reliability of references[edit]

There was a citation needed marker after the statement that he hit the first pinch-hit grand slam in Mets history. I found that in his published obituary and replaced the marker with the reference. But I'm not sure that an obit is a reliable reference for that information. Interested editors are invited to comment.
