Aboriginal name[edit]

The Aboriginal name for the river is Deerubbun.
  • There was no single "Aboriginal" language. Which Aboriginal language is this from? It may well have had multiple names in different languages.
  • This is not the way the Aborigines themselves spelled it (not having an alphabet and all), but the way a European hearing it spoken recorded it, which means it may not be accurate. I've changed the wording to "The Aboriginal name for the river was recorded as Deerubbun", but we still need to know who wrote it and when (and, if possible, what linguists have reconstructed the original pronunciation as having been). --Ptcamn 14:34, 8 July 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Hawkesbury River Monster[edit]

There have been heaps of sightings of a plesiosaur/possible itchyosaur in the river, should I add it or not? Spykeesam (talk) 14:59, 12 April 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Every wikipedia entry should have at least one reference to a monster. Actuarial disco boy (talk) 02:59, 13 April 2008 (UTC)[reply]
