Tom Wood's dwarf variety of Hedychium coccineum has been sold under the name 'Orange Brush' not 'Orange Bush' as stated in the article. It has also been sold under the name 'Disney' since the plant was originally obtained Dave Case from Diney World but since I didn't want to get into trademark problems with Disney I gave it the name Orange Brush due to it having six vertical rows of stamens projecting from the spike. See my wesite www.gingersgalore.com.

Also the image of H. coccineum shown is incorrect. This is an image of a mislabelled reprint of an unpublished painting from the collection of Roscoe's effects at 500 copies of which were sold by the Liverpool Botanic Garden to raise funds for the restoration of their conservatory. See www.palmhouse.org.uk. The plant illustrated is probably H. urophyllum.
