This sentence seems like it could be reworded: "Before metrification at the FCC, the procedure to figure HAAT was relatively simple: from the proposed or actual antenna site, either 12 or 16 radials were drawn, and points at 2, 4, 6, 8, and 10 miles (16 km) radius along each radial were used." I'd like to see an explanation how exactly did metrification make this procedure more complex, other than requiring the people using the procedure to know the metric system. That would not mean the procedure itself became more complex. As it is, it at least to me seems to bit a bit anti-metric pov. I'm taking this here instead of just changing it, since I do realize there might be a valid reason for this statement, but in that case it needs to be explained. I think you came across the true problem with this article. It describes the old english/imperial way to calculate it but hints that metricification caused a different method of calculation, because as you said, simply being in metric units does not make it less simple. So only this metric method is used now, what is it? We have the relatively useless information of how HAAT was calculated in the past, but not in the present. If someone with knowledge of the topic could add to the article and make it clear how HAAT is calculated, that would be helpful. 68.183.126.160 (talk) 17:30, 24 February 2011 (UTC)
