Proposed amalgamation[edit]

After I created an article on Helena and Harriet Scott I found this entry on Helena Scott. They need to be amalgamated. I propose to put the content of the this article under the Helena and Harriet Scott heading as the two sisters are always referred to together. Elara7 (talk) 04:24, 3 April 2013 (UTC)[reply]

After reading the feedback from User: Paul Venter on this suggestion, I renamed the other article Harriet Morgan. Now each sister has her own article and they cross reference one another. Whiteghost.ink (talk) 08:19, 7 April 2013 (UTC)[reply]
@Whiteghost.ink and Elara7:, I have proposed the two articles be merged again. See discussion. --Animalparty! (talk) 23:57, 29 December 2018 (UTC)[reply]

Portrait is of mother Harriet Calcott, not Helena[edit]

I am researching Helena Scott and have been looking for portraits. I looked up this portrait on the original Australian Museum site in the reference and found it was of Harriet Calcott, the mother of Helena and Harriet. Please double check it and replace with a portrait of Helena. LPascal (talk) 07:03, 16 December 2020 (UTC)[reply]

@LPascal: Where did you find the information that the portrait shows her mother? On the Australian Museum site, the picture appears in the article about Harriet Calcott but the subtitle reads Helena Forde, nee Scott. --TeKaBe (talk) 14:37, 3 January 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Sorry, the Aus Museum site is confusing because the portrait is place on the Harriet Calcott page as though it's of the mother and the reader has to look at the caption to see it's a picture of Helena. I intend to contact the Aus Museum to clarify this. My mistake in thinking it was Harriet, the mother, was also pointed out by someone else. Once the museum clarifies this, I can delete this talk section if you like.LPascal (talk) 08:39, 4 January 2021 (UTC)[reply]

@LPascal: Good idea to clarify this with the museum (I was also confused when I first saw Helena's portrait on the page about her mother)! But I would suggest to document the result of the clarification here rather than deleting this section. --TeKaBe (talk) 15:19, 4 January 2021 (UTC)[reply]

I have now had email correspondence with the author at the Australian Museum who wrote the Harriet Calcott article on the museum's site. She has confirmed it is a photo of Helena Scott/Forde, "The photo is of Helena and is noted in our archives as a photo." Apparently the web managers put the photo on the site, not the author of the article. The photo can be used by other organisations as long as they credit the Australian Museum. I apologise to all those organisations, including Wikipedia, that I sent messages to saying it was the wrong photo. LPascal (talk) 02:01, 15 January 2021 (UTC)[reply]

@LPascal: Good news! Thank you for clarifying. --TeKaBe (talk) 07:38, 16 January 2021 (UTC)[reply]
