Reverend Henry BrownHenry Brown (reverend) – His title is not part of his name and should not be included in the name of the article (except as a parenthetical to disambiguate). Dennis C. Abrams (talk) 17:15, 4 December 2023 (UTC)[reply]

I have opened an RM at Talk:Henry Brown (American clergyman). — BarrelProof (talk) 20:10, 4 December 2023 (UTC)[reply]
The "minister" suggestion is also OK with me. I wasn't aware of the usual convention. — BarrelProof (talk) 17:13, 5 December 2023 (UTC)[reply]
  • Move to Henry Brown (1823–1906) Merely "born" is a Wikipedia convention out of line with reliable source practice. Hameltion (talk | contribs) 05:12, 7 December 2023 (UTC)[reply]
    • Exactly, it's a Wikipedia convention! We don't need to follow "reliable sources" for disambiguation purposes, since disambiguation only relates to Wikipedia. In any case, the source you cite does not refer to him as "Henry Brown (1823–1906)"! -- Necrothesp (talk) 14:18, 7 December 2023 (UTC)[reply]
Yeah, an argument against Wikipedia convention and in favor of "reliable source practice" is unavailing. Dennis C. Abrams (talk) 14:21, 7 December 2023 (UTC)[reply]
@Necrothesp: Can't say I agree disambiguation modifiers are categorically exempt from needing support from reliable sources, but I hope I'm not misrepresenting you. Hameltion (talk | contribs) 03:02, 9 December 2023 (UTC)[reply]
