Most[edit]

Most of this appears to be direct plagiarism from the Henry Ford website.--Compcons 19:16, 13 June 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Some of the stuff certainly appears to have come from the official website, but is not a direct copy. As a physician who works in the Henry Ford Health System I am aware of some of the history and corrected the founding date and the reference to John's Hopkins being the model. WikiProject NRHP assessment[edit]

I've rated this article as C-class by the WikiProject NRHP guidelines. There's some good coverage of the history and the physical plant here. However, the guidelines include "No major issues with prose or references, and the article could be improved to GA-quality without too much additional work." This doesn't seem to be the case. There's a long unsourced section that reads like a press release for the hospital; the "History" section reads as though an editor was trying to cram in every accomplishment, however minor (lots of first-in-Michigan and even first-in-Detroit procedures); there are lots of very weak citations, taking us to a main hospital-history page but not linking to the URLs where the information can actually be found; and there needs to be a bit more on the NRHP nomination, explaining why it was selected for the Register. To my eye, fixing these would take more than "without too much additional work"; and if the article's being watched by an SPA with a connection to the hospital, correcting the excessive self-promotion might lead to disagreement that would have to be resolved before the stability necessary for a GA was achieved. There's GA potential here, but it would require some fairly ruthless cutting, possibly in the face of opposition. That being the case, I can't rate it above a C.
