Lat/Long[edit]

I'm sorry, but the Lat/Long used in the co-ordinates are wrong. I don't know NY, so I can't help with the correct co-ordinates. Frelke 08:06, 25 May 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Corrected, thanks. --ChrisRuvolo (t) 17:20, 19 July 2007 (UTC)[reply]

What is a Bow-tie square? It'd be nice to have a page or short definition.

Photos[edit]

An editor has twice reverted an edit to resize photos on this article. WP:IMAGESIZE states "except with very good reason, do not use px (e.g. thumb|300px), which forces a fixed image width". The editor also moved photos from the right side of the article to the left side. WP:IMGLOC states "In most cases, images should be right justified on pages, which is the default placement". The editor left no edit summary to explain their action. This editor also removed this photo.WP:IUP states that "the purpose of an image is to increase readers' understanding of the article's subject matter, usually by directly depicting people, things, activities, and concepts described in the article". The photo is from the US National Archives and shows a driver in traffic in Herald Square in 1973. There is a historical context, and it depicts a person at work in Herald Square. Thank you for your input. Magnolia677 (talk) 19:35, 28 March 2016 (UTC)[reply]

THe "good reason" is that images should be presented at a size that the readers can easily see their contents, not at postage stamp sizes (remember, only peopele with ac counts can set their thumbnail size, all IPs and everyone who just uses Wikipedia for reference sees a postage stamp if the size is not set.) If the reader wants to see more detail, they can click through, but we should never force them to click through just to see the content. BMK (talk) 21:07, 28 March 2016 (UTC)[reply]
No, follow WP:IMAGESIZE and WP:IMGLOC. I don't see a problem with the Frustrated driver image. I prefer Magnolia677's version also for aestetic reasons. It looks better, less confused and cluttered. --OpenFuture (talk) 11:45, 30 March 2016 (UTC)[reply]
Congratulations, you've made what was a decent-looking article into a visually extrenmely boring one. Good work, everyone. BMK (talk) 22:40, 30 March 2016 (UTC)[reply]

While personally I do think BMK's layout looks way better, the fact is arguing over a layout seems quite pointless rather than focusing on the content. If anything get an adminstrator involved to settle this issue? --2601:84:8702:B2C0:5407:FAC5:617F:80A2 (talk) 18:30, 5 April 2016 (UTC)[reply]
