The ArmyROTC site says he transferred from the 7th Cavalry to be the military instructor in 1885. The previous unreferenced article said he joined the 2nd U.S. Cavalry. Is that a mistake or did he transfer? Wonder if he regretted not getting in on the Battle of the Little Bighorn? One source said he participated in the latter phases of the Indian Wars.
