"He never married".[edit]

In the pre-Stonewall days, the expression "He never married" was a euphemism often employed in the Obituary pages of newspapers to indicate that a person was gay. Is there any implication to be read into that here? I'm not trying to imply that this is relevant to his status as an editorial cartoonist, but I am curious.Partnerfrance (talk) 17:00, 11 May 2017 (UTC)[reply]

This is the only place I've found where he talks about that. He said he'd had girlfriends, but somehow never was inclined to get married: http://www.booknotes.org/Watch/52323-1/Herbert-Block Make of it what you will. Mahousu (talk) 13:25, 9 February 2019 (UTC)[reply]
