PhD from Oskaloosa College[edit]

According to this source, which is used in the Oskaloosa College article, the college closed down in 1898. Either this source is wrong, or Carrington attended a different college based in Oskaloosa. Throughthemind (talk) 13:30, 8 June 2020 (UTC)[reply]

I've found reference here, to there being a diploma mill operating under the Oskaloosa College name up to the 1920s.

@Throughthemind: Hereward Carrington was basically a fraud. He told lots of lies about many things. I have exchanged emails with several historians who know about Carrington. He never received a recognized degree (he had a diploma mill), and certainly not a PhD from Oskaloosa College. The National Cyclopædia of American Biography was actually in error here.
