Fejl i artiklen[edit]

Laluha (talk) 22:19, 4 July 2019 (UTC)[reply]

Hi. This is the English Wikipedia, please. I understand Danish, but it is important for all readers that we communicate in English on this part of Wikipedia.
Now, the article doesn't have a singular author, it has many, but I was the one who put up the info about Bidstrups whereabouts during WWII, if I remember correctly. No, I am not an expert on Bidstrups life at all, but that is not needed, as articles are built on sourced info. The info on his US stay is sourced, so if you believe to know any better, you should provide some proper sources to counter and correct that information. Just stating the obvious. I got your point about language in these talks and about sources. But still I could not find any mention of af stay in the US during WW2 in the Weilbach (listed as a source in the article; the other is in russian and I cannot read that). The wherabout and work of Bidstrup during the war is covered in some detail in:

Hanne Abildgaard (ed.): Herluf Bidstrup - Satire og humor (Arbejdernuseet, ISBN 87-88626-29-6) and in lesser detail in:

Claus Seidel: Til Stregen (Gads Forlag 2020, ISBN 978-87-12-05785-7)

According to them Bidstrup was not in the US. The same sources cover his relations with one time friend and colleague but later enemy Hans Bendix which did spend WW2 in the US.

I can see that the Wikipedia still claims that Bidstrup was in the US during WW2. This is not correct and I have provided two sources about Bidstrups whereabouts. The explanation is very simple as the cartoonist Hans Bendix with a career similar to Bidstrup (and the same initials) did spend WW2 in the US. Bidstrup at the same time made more or less illegal cartoons in Denmark which was occupied by the nazis. Bendix too made cartoons against the nazis in Denmark before the war and in the US during the war. Laluha (talk) 08:10, 27 October 2022 (UTC)[reply]
