Conway's appearances for Southend United[edit]

No Football League matches were played in the season 1945-46, when Conway was with Southend United, as League football resumed only in 1946-47. The Southend United player database at http://www.sufcdb.co.uk/index.php?option=com_players&action=6&poffset=0&sort=abc records, however, that Conway made two first-team appearances for the club. It seems reasonable to suppose that these may have been the two F.A. Cup matches against Watford, played on 17 and 24 November 1945, although I have not yet seen the team line-ups for those games.
