How can he be based on Horus if his parents were Ra and Hathor as stated in the series? Horus was the son of Osiris and Isis.

From Horus:

"Horus is the god of the sky, and the son of Osiris. His mother is Isis."

I'm not too familiar with Egyptian mythology, so I can't comment on the religious aspect, but in the show Heru-ur isn't actually the son of Ra and Hathor. Goa'uld reproduce asexually, spawned by a queen, so he would, at best, just be the son of Hathor or the son of Ra, but not both. However, among the Goa'uld, "parent" isn't quite as biological as it is to us. As Klorel stated, Apophis is his father because it was Apophis who gave him a host and whatnot, not because Apophis birthed him. Heru-ur might be Ra and Hathor's kid not because he's actually their child, but because it was they who raised him. Maybe it was the Goa'uld Isis, who has been stated to be a queen, that birthed him, but somehow the symbiote ended up in Ra's hands.

Of course, this is all pure conjecture, so we can't put it in the article, but it's a theory. JBK405 00:31, 18 April 2007 (UTC)[reply]
