Holohedral type[edit]
I stumbled onto this page as I seemed to recall that 'beryl' was the Holohedral form of the hexagonal crystal system, and I was hoping I just couldn't spell the word holohedral - otherwise it's a redlink. EdwardLane (talk) 14:27, 22 February 2012 (UTC)
I just found a link to it on wiktionary wiktionary:holohedral - looks like that definition and probably hemihedral should be somewhere in these articles ? EdwardLane (talk) 14:55, 22 February 2012 (UTC)

I'm suggesting that this page, together with the trigonal crystal system, be merged together into an article called "Hexagonal crystal family". Otherwise, readers who read the trigonal crystal system article have to be directed here if they want to find out about the hexagonal lattice, and having two separate pages without clear sections for the two lattice systems and two crystal systems, as well as a section explaining the three possible combinations (trigonal rhombohedral, trigonal hexagonal or hexagonal hexagonal) only serves to continue the confusion. I admit I myself was confused when I started reading on Bravais lattices for these two and it could be better cleared up this way.--Officer781 (talk) 05:46, 24 July 2016 (UTC)
