Translation[edit]

This doesn't look to difficult to translate from German, but what are the procedures for translation and linking back to the original? to ensure readers know it was a German article? Poorly written[edit]

I do not have any suggestions, but upon reading this, the article is poorly written compared to other articles I have read. The use of capital letters and Astrix's (in place of quotations?), mixed with very short sentences gives it a feel of poor writing style. Merge and improve?[edit]

As per above comments and the cleanup notice, this still needs work. The topic could be historical by now, since much higher rates seem the modern baseline. So might need to be in past tense. Also, I suggested a merge from G.991.1 almost two years ago, which was removed today. That is a permastub that just says it is the number of the document that specifies this protocol. For most of the other DSLs like SHDSL, VDSL, VDSL2 etc. there is one merged article on both the protocol and its document. I do not see how a single document can be shown to meet Wikipedia notability standards. There are probably not any independent sources that only talk about the document number but not the protocol itself. So will do a bold merge if nobody objects, since there were no comments to the contrary in the two years the merge tag was on. W Nowicki (talk) 22:09, 23 June 2013 (UTC)[reply]
