Bias of article[edit]

POV of this page is strange and lopsided: focused on development issues (anti), cites articles and data 10 years and older, mentions only private or religious schools and doesn’t mention (any longer) the iconic Sundial Plaza at Cranmer Park. PricklyWench (talk) 09:22, 2 August 2018 (UTC)[reply]

The sundial is described pretty well in the article on Cranmer Park, so no great need to repeat it here.Jeffrey Beall (talk) 13:36, 2 August 2018 (UTC)[reply]
see previous revisions — the development issues were hot-toned ("McMansions") in a previous revision … rather than be rude and delete all mention of the development issues, i shortened it and made the tone more encyclopedic; i also replaced a dead link to a realty company to a decent reference for redevelopment patterns; since these patterns started some time ago it didn't seem to matter that the citation was not current; with these changes, the article is somewhat more balanced; to balance it better, i suggest describing other aspects of the neighborhood --Garbanzito (talk) 20:45, 3 August 2018 (UTC)[reply]

Neighborhood boundaries[edit]

i suggest restoring or improving upon my description of the boundaries; here is my reasoning:

as a long-time Denver resident familiar with controversies about neighborhood boundaries, but also without any skin in the game regarding Hilltop specifically, i observed see-saw editing of the Boundaries section; i felt the best way to resolve this would be to cite both the Denver statistical boundaries and describe the RNOs which overlap the statistical boundaries; the statistical boundaries are important for various reasons, not least of which that the demographics cited in this article are based on boundaries close to these

in contrast to statistical boundaries, RNO boundaries in Denver are an important, if imperfect reflection of neighborhood identities; in this case i observed two "Hilltop" RNOs — Hilltop Heritage Association and Cranmer Park/Hilltop Civic Association — with very different boundaries, and also noted that Mayfair Neighbors overlaps with Cranmer Park/Hilltop Civic Association east of Eudora St. and north of 6th Ave.; if the two Hilltop RNOs are coordinated in such a way that the smaller is subsumed in the larger, some citable clarity about this would be worth adding ---Garbanzito (talk) 20:45, 3 August 2018 (UTC)[reply]

The Hilltop Heritage RNO boundaries are within the boundaries of the larger and active RNO, the Cranmer Park/Hilltop Civic Assn. The Hilltop Heritage group was organized in the mid-1990s to create a Design Overlay in a portion of the neighborhood to prevent lot splitting on the larger properties located primarily in the southern portion of the neighborhood.
