{{Requested move/dated|Geostationary Meteorological Satellite}}

Geostationary meteorological satelliteGeostationary Meteorological Satellite — Title is the name of the system, as used by the operator and third-party sources), not a description. Proper nouns should be capitalised per WP:CAPS. --GW 14:12, 10 February 2011 (UTC)[reply]

  • Comment the current name is highly generic, since it refers to any weather satellite in geostat orbit, thus this article should never occupy this name, it should redirect to weather satellite, since that is the primary usage, not these Japanese sats. 184.144.164.14 (talk) 21:17, 11 February 2011 (UTC)[reply]
  • Rename to Himawari (satellite) 184.144.164.14 (talk) 21:18, 11 February 2011 (UTC)[reply]
    Himawari is a name given to individual spacecraft in the series, not the series itself. That said, I agree about redirecting Geostationary meteorological satellite to Weather satellite, so we need to put this somewhere. The title I have proposed should be sufficient since it is capitalised as a proper noun. --GW 16:31, 12 February 2011 (UTC)[reply]
Support move to Himawari (satellite): All of the spacecraft seem to have been named Himawari, so I'd guess moving the article to that name would be more in accordance with WP:COMMONNAME and would lead to less confusion (and fewer hatnotes). Colds7ream (talk) 10:25, 13 February 2011 (UTC)[reply]
