Sourcing[edit]

@Smuckola: The fact that a particular source agrees with reliable sources, doesn't make that source itself reliable. If there are reliable sources supporting this information, cite those. Nikkimaria (talk) 14:26, 24 January 2021 (UTC)[reply]

@Nikkimaria: Hi. Yeah that's precisely what situational sourcing means, as that template and so many other templates and policies say. WP:TWITTER etc. Sorry, that's simply not how anything works at all. You're just implying that situational sourcing doesn't exist. You're implying you have a jihad against the findagrave template and yet it exists for a reason, and this is it. You can't go trying to delete the findagrave template from wikipedia one citation at a time, and you can't just unilaterally declare that there can't be any use for it. You can't argue against the existence of WP:FINDAGRAVE-EL via me. If you have an issue then you take it up way upstream, like with the findagrave template or some other thing, because it has nothing whatsoever to do with me or with this article. You can't just delete whatever WP:IDONTLIKEIT and you can't just do it via edit warring WP:3RR. You have no policy driven explanation, and you have no explanation whatsoever for deleting the other correct infobox data. So this is your opportunity to self revert and not do it again, thanks. — Smuckola(talk) 15:32, 24 January 2021 (UTC)[reply]
This particular source has been discussed at WP:RSN on multiple occasions, and the consensus there has been that it is not a reliable source for article content because the information given is user-generated. You're welcome to contribute your thoughts there if you disagree. However, in the interim, the disputed link should stay out unless and until there is consensus to include it. @Smuckola: in borderline cases like this, you'd probably be better of taking this to WP:RSN and getting some extra eyes on it. -- a they/them | argue | contribs 16:25, 24 January 2021 (UTC)[reply]
