Presumption of knowledge of the plot of _The Wonderful Wizard of Oz_ in the third paragraph[edit]

I'm not onboard with the editorial voice expressed in the third paragraph of the opening section here. The presumption of knowledge of the plot of the novel _The Wonderful Wizard of Oz_ is alienating, giving the text a fan-community exclusivity instead of an academic openness. I will modify next Sunday April 17 unless there is reasonable discussion indicating otherwise.
