Armenian restaurant[edit]

The New York Times made an article on an LA area Armenian restaurant (Adana on San Fernando Road, owned by Edward Khechemyan - had two previous names). In case there are additional sources that can be used to describe the restaurant I am linking to this one here

History of the Armenian Americans in Los Angeles → History of Armenian Americans in Los Angeles – By WP:DEFINITE and WP:CONCISE, the use of "the" should be dropped from this title because it simply is not necessary to convey the topic of the article. Additionally, the use of the definite article in this case is clunky and should not be in use per WP:NATURALNESS. For now, we can disregard the "political correctness" argument that using the definite article to refer to ethnic groups in certain cases is "othering" and a social wrong. While I personally think this argument is compelling, the true test of whether referring to "Armeninan Americans" with "the" is acceptable can simply be determined by looking at the wider media: In 2019, news articles mentioning "the Armenian Americans" were a very small fraction (0.5%) of articles mentioning "Armenian Americans". By WP:COMMONNAME, the title of the article should be changed to reflect this usage by the media. Mysterymanblue (talk) 20:41, 4 June 2020 (UTC)[reply]

You wouldn't say "I learned about the history of the Americans", you say "history of Americans" – and this isn't any different (it almost sounds pejorative with a "the")! New Changes to Article[edit]

I would like to add some information to this article, specifically the History section. The general silence towards the aftermath and the occurrence of the Armenian Genocide is very important because it is what has led to the Armenian American identity today. New generation Armenian Americans lobby for its recognition in Washington D.C. and the Armenian community in Los Angeles is based on the knowledge of it and the prevention of anything like that to happen again. I would also like to add about how Los Angeles has the largest Armenian population outside of Armenia itself and I would add some statistics about that from the source Global Diasporas: an Introduction by Robin Cohen. Altogether I would add around 200 to 300 words in total. If anyone wants to comment on these changes, please let me know on this Talk Page or on my Talk Page. Thank you. New Changes to Article[edit]

I noticed the changes made today (March 15, 2023) by TimothyBlue, and am a bit concerned about the extensive removal and/or merging of several sections. I am also concerned about the removal of Los Angeles County cities other than Los Angeles. I have understood this article to be about the Los Angeles metropolitan area rather than specifically the City of Los Angeles.

I took a look at this revision. Anything relevant to Los Angeles and Orange counties is absolutely relevant to this article. However, the citation used for the content that was removed didn't seem to be so great. I'd prefer stuff cited by the Los Angeles Times or an academic book. This stuff seems to be about locations outside of Los Angeles and Orange counties, and that stuff is cited to primary sources. I'm OK with those two removals.
