From "Decline and near oblivion (1976–1987)"[edit]

Although, in retrospect, this only served to blur the lines between the professional and semi-professional leagues, at the time it was perceived that teams losing league status might never recover from this.[1]

Hi - I'll make copyedits as I go (please revert if I inadvertently change the meaning) and jot queries below: Cas Liber (talk · contribs) 03:32, 2 January 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Hi Casliber, thanks for taking this review. I'll keep an eye on it. WA8MTWAYC (talk) 13:27, 2 January 2021 (UTC)[reply]
  • , the colours of the former rugby club, - I'd put this in endashes or emdashes, to differentiate from commas...
  • When it was decided to found the Football League for the 1888–89 season, - why not just, "When the Football League was established/founded for the 1888–89 season," or rework as "Burnley were among the 12 founder members - and one of the six Lancashire-based clubs - of the inagural 188-89 season of the Football League"
  • who changed the club's colours from green to the claret and blue of First Division champions Aston Villa; - err, wut? when they change from blue and white to green...?
    • During the early years, Burnley had a lot of different colour schemes (see here). What do you think is the best solution? E.g. leave a footnote that they had green kit colours since 1900 or leave it as it is? WA8MTWAYC (talk) 12:02, 4 January 2021 (UTC)[reply]
