Citations

Hey guys,

I've been doing research on infrastructure in former British colonies - it seems like there's some great stuff in this article and the bibliography has proved helpful in moving forward, but could the original authors try to go back and add footnotes to cite which sources gave them what? Specifically, some of the sources cited chronologically could not have applied to some events, but otherwise, it's a guessing game as to what came from where. Thanks! — Preceding unsigned comment added by 50.177.114.72 (talk) 13:18, 23 December 2015 (UTC)

bias severe

this article is extremely biased. t favours mindless, racist demagoguery and is completely pointless.

having whole screeds about how private capital is unacceptable doesnt help anyone. there is no proof of corruption, or allegations that the railway did nt serve indian people.

for example; the racist author claims that the bengal famine was caused because the racist british were unwilling to use the railways to transport grain. this is nonsense. internal trade restricions were created by the indian legislature and it was the indian governor of punjab who refused to allow grain to be sold. read the bengal famine page.

so this is just crap.

lazy, evil racism like "british colonial government" should not be allowed. there was no colonialism in india it was specifically banned. india was an imperial - not colonial state.

im super pissed off to read such ignorant, lazy, moronic racism without any basis in fact.

articles like this give wikipedia a bad name.

cant find the tildes - sorry. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 2.99.59.56 (talk) 21:24, 16 March 2016 (UTC)

Role of the Railways in Partition

I've added a new sub-section in the History section regarding Partition and the Indian Railways. Please add content if you have expertise. Philothesophist (talk) 18:12, 27 February 2021 (UTC)

Hi, Philothesophist. Just to let you know, I tagged it as an empty section. ritenerektalk :) 09:04, 3 March 2021 (UTC)
