Merge or expand[edit]

I realize that this is a huge topic worthy of volumes. It should be either expanded or merged/turned into a redir to The Holocaust. ←Humus sapiens ну? 09:06, 14 June 2006 (UTC)[reply]

  • Do NOT merge with the Holocaust articles because this article includes many events and issues that happened OUTSIDE of the Holocaust, such as in the United States with its millions of Jews who did not experience the Holocaust but instead many US Jews served in the US armed forces fighting in World War II in Far East as well, or the Jews of Australia and South Africa who enjoyed freedom in those countries during World war II (and joined its armed forces to fight the Axis) as the Jews of Europe perished during the Holocaust. So it's quite definitely a separate topic. IZAK 07:53, 22 June 2006 (UTC)[reply]
Well, I'm not sure how especially noteworthy the experience of Jews outside of Nazi-occupied areas during WWII is as an encyclopedia topic. If it is adjudged so, I think it belongs in a different sort of article, something like World Jewish reaction during the Holocaust. Then the specific experience of Jews living in Nazi-occupied areas (the part that's not covered in the general Holocaust article) could perhaps be merged under Shoah.--Pharos 21:38, 27 January 2007 (UTC)[reply]

The end of the second paragraph sounds funny: "around 1 Jew was killed." Can we make it less colloquial, figure out the probable number or even eliminate the reference?Labellesanslebete (talk) 18:29, 12 April 2010 (UTC)[reply]

  • I just stumbled on this article. It seems really weird. Is this some kind of fork? It doesn't make sense for an article with this kind of broad subject matter to be so brief. ScottyBerg (talk) 15:20, 11 May 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Fair use rationale for Image:JB recruitment poster Salvation and Vengeance.gif[edit]

Image:JB recruitment poster Salvation and Vengeance.gif is being used on this article. I notice the image page specifies that the image is being used under fair use but there is no explanation or rationale as to why its use in this Wikipedia article constitutes fair use. In addition to the boilerplate fair use template, you must also write out on the image description page a specific explanation or rationale for why using this image in each article is consistent with fair use.

Please go to the image description page and edit it to include a fair use rationale. Using one of the templates at Wikipedia:Fair use rationale guideline is an easy way to insure that your image is in compliance with Wikipedia policy, but remember that you must complete the template. Do not simply insert a blank template on an image page.

If there is other fair use media, consider checking that you have specified the fair use rationale on the other images used on this page. Note that any fair use images uploaded after 4 May, 2006, and lacking such an explanation will be deleted one week after they have been uploaded, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you.
