Canadian Energy Research Institute[edit]

The researcher from CERI seems okay. He seems credible, and the organization he works for certainly is. 03:40, 25 April 2008 (UTC)

It is a video - normally to be avoided (and incidentally a video that only works marginally, so much so that I could not tell if there was any content germane to this article on history, or that was not already present in the article). It appears top be a prognostication of the future - does that have a role in this history article? It's one opinion - whether of an expert or otherwise. Does it add to the article? Not for me. I am sorry to say but self blogs are not allowed here as per WP:LINKSTOAVOID. So i have removed them

I appreciate your thoughts. This is not a self-blog. The links are to articles that have appeared in authoritative magazines, and to published books. They are all relevant to the topic at hand. I have put a huge amount of work into this series over about 5 years. I'm glad you have taken interest in it, but I am reinstalling those links. The work you have done is based on a misunderstanding. Articles published in Oilweek and Oilsands Review are not self blog. They are authoritative material, and in a number of cases are cited as references. The book, The Great Oil Age is also cited as a reference. 15:15, 30 August 2011 (UTC)

In respoct to the following, I do qualify as an authority: Links to blogs, personal web pages and most fansites, except those written by a recognized authority. I wrote my first book about Cdn. petroleum history almost 20 years ago, and have written others since. I write regularly (monthly) for authoritative magazines, and I am currently a team leader for a major oral history project focused on Canada's oilsands.

Ok all sound good for you as a recognized authority - however why are you using such a bad blog site for this - do you not have a proper website of your own - Just odd to see this all on blogspot.com a site that is generally banned here. (its a black listed site and is why I removed it because i got a noticed of its posting. Would be best to not use such a highly discredited site to post this info. The site is used for fan pages and rants My bands page that is not credible because of were its from anyone can clam to be anyone and post to blogspot.com - best to move all this info to a proper paid website.Moxy (talk) 21:43, 30 August 2011 (UTC)[reply]
