I'll be reviewing this article. Shorts should be promoted within a while. GeraldWL 17:34, 13 December 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Thanks! ---Another Believer (Talk) 18:52, 13 December 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Lead[edit]

  • "before closing during the COVID-19 pandemic in 2020." No need for "in 2020," as the pandemic is on 2020. On some devices the "2020" is also placed in a new, weird line. GeraldWL 02:23, 14 December 2020 (UTC)[reply]
     Done ---Another Believer (Talk) 02:29, 14 December 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Description[edit]

  • "located at 120 Northwest 3rd Avenue in downtown Portland's Old Town Chinatown. The establishment also served as a starting point for tours of the Shanghai tunnels." This is supported by 3 citations, one of them is a bundle of two. So there are a whopping four references. Can you relocate the citations, or remove unneeded ones? GeraldWL 04:35, 14 December 2020 (UTC)[reply]

  • Maybe it is meaningless, but it would be a friendly gesture if we link "chi-chi" to wiktionary:chichi. GeraldWL 04:35, 14 December 2020 (UTC)[reply]
I'm not really sure when linking to wiktionary is necessary. I would just encourage readers to look up the definition of a word if needed. ---Another Believer (Talk) 05:43, 14 December 2020 (UTC)[reply]
  • Link city council? GeraldWL 04:35, 14 December 2020 (UTC)[reply]
I've linked to Government of Portland, Oregon, which is more specific. ---Another Believer (Talk) 05:45, 14 December 2020 (UTC)[reply]
  • "The tunnels were accessed by a trapdoor and stairs to the restaurant's basement" Supported by three citations. Seemed too much: mind addressing? GeraldWL 04:35, 14 December 2020 (UTC)[reply]
I want to push back here. In this case, I feel all three sources are used to come up with the article's current wording, which is why I included quotes from all three sources to demonstrate how they've been used to justify use of "trapdoor", "stairs", and "basement". ---Another Believer (Talk) 05:46, 14 December 2020 (UTC)[reply]
  • "Reed said the "spacious" restaurant had an "extensive" dinner menu"-- suggest remodel to "The restaurant, which Reed called it "spacious," had an "extensive" dinner menu" GeraldWL 04:35, 14 December 2020 (UTC)[reply]
I don't think "which Reed called it "spacious"..." is grammatically correct. I prefer the current wording. ---Another Believer (Talk) 05:47, 14 December 2020 (UTC)[reply]
Another Believer, I checked the grammar-- apparently, it is grammatically correct without the "it." GeraldWL 05:53, 14 December 2020 (UTC)[reply]

History[edit]

  • "used Hobo's as an entrance to the tunnels, as of 2002–2010." Supported by three references. Again, seemed too much, given the shortness of this claim. GeraldWL 04:35, 14 December 2020 (UTC)[reply]
Gerald Waldo Luis, I wanted to give sources for the time span. Hobo's has a lengthy history so I think the dates are helpful for noting when Jones used the space for tours. ---Another Believer (Talk) 05:49, 14 December 2020 (UTC)[reply]
    Seems like a good reasoning. GeraldWL 05:51, 14 December 2020 (UTC)[reply]
  • Seems like "scallops" has not been linked. Recommend linking. GeraldWL 04:40, 14 December 2020 (UTC)[reply]
     Done ---Another Believer (Talk) 05:49, 14 December 2020 (UTC)[reply]
  • "and collect some compelling visual evidence" is a very debatable claim. Suggest changing "according to" to "as claimed by."
