Page name should be changed[edit]

Party of Homeland's Fighters is a frighteningly poor translation of Parti Pejuang Tanah Air.

Homeland Fighters' Party is likely the most logical and grammatically accurate translation into English.

Hello, thank you for commenting. Just my opinion, but in fact, both "Party of A" and "A Party" is possible. For example, Party of the Democratic Left and Democratic Left Party, Party of Labour and Labour Party.--Jolin254 (talk) 16:07, 18 August 2020 (UTC)[reply]
++But in fact, both "Party of A" and "A Party" is translated as same ("Parti A") in Malay.--Jolin254 (talk) 16:08, 18 August 2020 (UTC)[reply]
Jolin254 My problem isn't necessarily whether it should be "Party of X" or "x Party", but that "Homeland's" should not have an apostrophe + s. My recommendation of "Homeland Fighters' Party" is simply what I find most suitable. If we do want to use "Party of", then it should be "Party of the Homeland Fighters" and not "Party of Homeland Fighters". Sisuvia (talk) 10:00, 19 August 2020 (UTC)[reply]
Hongqilim, Paktook64, Rfffchry, Jolin254 - Would like to get all of your opinions as frequent editors of this page regarding the most name/translation most suitable. Tq. Sisuvia (talk) 13:21, 20 August 2020 (UTC)[reply]
No problem with any name.--Hongqilim (talk) 14:14, 20 August 2020 (UTC)[reply]
Sisuvia Maybe we can wait for more other opinions, or wait till the party announces its official English name. For me, I'm okay with any name.--Jolin254 (talk) 14:31, 20 August 2020 (UTC)[reply]
I believe that the intended usage of the word pejuang in this context is "homeland fighter" ("fighter for the homeland"), which to me implies "nationalist" or "patriot". Nationalism in fact already features in the Infobox's "Ideology".
I propose changing the English translation of the party name to just "Nationalist Party" or "Patriot's Party".
But on the international stage, it will have to be prefixed "(Malaysian)" or suffixed (Malaysia) to distinguish it from the many others already out there in the world. Samhu (talk) 13:29, 14 March 2022 (UTC)[reply]
A discussion about the differences (and similarities) between "patriot" and "nationalist".

I see there are no further comments about the proposal to change the name of this entry. Last call - any preference for "Nationalist's" or "Patriot's" to replace the ungainly "Homeland Fighter's" for this parties name in English? Samhu (talk) 19:57, 24 October 2023 (UTC)[reply]
