Sourcing[edit]

There is extensive sourcing on the concept of homestays, Find sources: Google (books · news · scholar · free images · WP refs· FENS · JSTOR · TWL. I don't have time to work more on it at the moment but believe this is enough to avoid a speedy and hopefully AfD. TravellingCarithe Busy Bee 20:00, 26 May 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Seeming Advertisements[edit]

It would probably be best if the sections on Thailand and China were deleted as they seem to be endorsements, and not encyclopedic information. My guess is some homestay company is creating them, and based on their grammatical mistakes, they are obviously not native English speakers. 11:36, 24 August 2010

Revert to historical version[edit]

It appears someone has gone in an sabotaged the entire article, and replaced it with a very short generalized paragraph with specific advertising.

I have reverted the entire article to the last respectable version in 2008, which has had many edits and corrections and collaboration in writing. It is the "last known good" of this article before it was wiped and replaced with the latest version. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Esobofh (talkcontribs) 18:51, 10 January 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Vrbo, misterb&b and booking.com are not homestays[edit]

Dear @Fountainback, thank you very much for your edits, but homestay should mean "home" not "hotel" or "rental apartment". Geysirhead (talk) 20:35, 7 August 2022 (UTC)[reply]

Maybe, misterb&b should be actually included. We need more voices. Geysirhead (talk) 20:41, 7 August 2022 (UTC)[reply]
