Untitled[edit]

Like it or not, the Hoosier State is a different train from the Cardinal, thus it deserves its own article. And here it is. --plaws 17:38, 29 August 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Kentucky Cardinal?[edit]

The article mentions the Kentucky Cardinal. As far as I can tell, there's no Kentucky Cardinal anymore. Amtrak offers thruway bus service to Louisville to complement both the Hoosier and the Cardinal trains, but no train service to Louisville. Does anyone have any updated details of this history? --Indexheavy (talk) 06:49, 27 January 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Route details[edit]

The route details section of this article refers to the Cardinal, rather than the Hoosier state, is this a cut and paste misprint? Bonewah (talk) 13:40, 2 November 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Changed. (Messed up in typing the edit summary, though. Sorry.) 24.12.5.67 (talk) 01:46, 29 December 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Discontinuance[edit]

The Hoosier State has looked dead before, so let's hold off on calling it discontinued until it actually stops running. Mackensen (talk) 02:21, 7 March 2015 (UTC)[reply]

Operator[edit]

There's been some confusion about this (and it's a confusing situation), but to the best of my knowledge this is the current structure:

  • Amtrak operates the train, under contract to INDOT
  • Iowa Pacific provides rolling stock and OBS personnel for the train, also under contract to INDOT

I think it's correct to say that Amtrak remains the operator of the train, not Iowa Pacific. Mackensen (talk) 21:13, 14 August 2015 (UTC)[reply]
