Tone[edit]

The tone of the "considerations" section is not properly encyclopedic for Wikipedia. Reads more like a promo or a how-to. SchuminWeb (Talk) 05:42, 18 April 2008 (UTC)[reply]

in hoteling industry customer is not always right because noe a days all pracautions are taken for the clear satisfaction of customes. USSAMA RASHEEd —Preceding unsigned comment added by 182.177.50.140 (talk) 17:44, 3 March 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Who uses it[edit]

The section was looking like self-promotion. The statements about the benefits with specifics for CCRA has nothing to do with who uses it. A very large set of examples can be given. A simple, referenced listing would be more helpful than a single anecdote. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 57.250.229.136 (talk) 16:55, 1 July 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Addressing long-standing issues[edit]

I have been working on this article to address long-standing flags for citation and writing style, and generally to improve the article's coverage of the topic. I work in the industry (for AgilQuest). My intent is to improve the article according to Wikipedia's neutrality standards, not to advance my company's interests in particular. -HeyBoogie (talk) 17:02, 4 August 2015 (UTC)[reply]

There is some inconsistency in this article between the one-L and two-L spellings. The article title uses two L's ("hotelling") while the first word spells it with just one. I have searched on Google Trends; it seems that both spellings are used rather frequently. (The results are difficult to interpret, though, because of a famous statistician named Harold Hotelling.)
Regardless, the article title and the first use of the term in the article should match. I propose (as the easier solution) that we change the title of the article to "Hoteling" and change the spelling throughout to match." Any objections? HeyBoogie (talk) 17:49, 25 August 2015 (UTC)[reply]

Lead sentence(s)[edit]

@Sladen: Thank you for your improvements to the lead sentence. I just made a couple further edits. I thought starting without a jargon reference "hot desking" would be better, but I agree that addressing its relation to this similar concept should be done sooner, so I moved a lower paragraph up. -HeyBoogie (talk) 15:45, 4 November 2015 (UTC)[reply]

HeyBoogie. Thank you. I can see that another edit as now been made[1] the result of which is that the second-line in the article now contains "is similar to X, and is sometimes confused with it since both methods support unassigned Y." I don't think this latest wording is likely to help our readers understand the topic or give them the kind of immediate high-level overview that we try to provide with a WP:LEAD. Would you be willing to consider a self-revert to the changes in the first paragraph? —Sladen (talk) 17:05, 4 November 2015 (UTC)[reply]
@Sladen: You're right, my version is not so great either. Instead of reverting, I have adjusted the lead paragraph again -- I think (hope) this addresses both your points and ours. Feel free to revert or edit as you see fit, I have the article on my watchlist and will see any edits you make. -HeyBoogie (talk) 18:37, 10 November 2015 (UTC)[reply]
