Below is a tentative bibliography for Huang Kan's page. I see that here includes many of his original works. However, many of other people talking about him are deeply buried in books that talk generally about history, literature, linguistics of his period. If anyone has found anything relevant that is not immediately evident in the book title, PLEASE point me towards that direction. Thank you very much!

  • First sentence is missing a period at the end of the sentence;
  • "...admired him for his integrity and course when in political disagreement with university administration" is also missing a period at the end of the sentence.
  • The first sentence in the "Early Education" section is also missing a period at the end.
• Infobox:
  • Capitalization: "overconsumption of alcohol" should be capitalized; and "late Qing Dynasty" should be capitalized under "Years Active".
• Wording: "allegedly nine marriages" > "nine alleged marriages"

Upon returning to China after his political exile in Japan, he slowly withdrew from direct political involvements and focused his energy on research and teaching. “focused his energy on research and teaching” to “focused on”

for students he thought as particularly talented with great potential, he held extra smaller lectures outside of class time to discuss contemporary matters and literature.

A compilation of his major works were published as 《黄季刚先生遗著专号》 ("Special Edition of Works by the Late Mr. Huang Jigang") after his death which included nineteen of his writings.
