Removal of malware link[edit]

Last night I removed an external link to the article which had given me a malware warning and wouldn't open when I had clicked on it. However I crashed my browser and so had to re-install it. Apparently, according to the administrator I talked to on the wikipedia live help, the server at the link had removed the offending page by the time he/she checked it and the admin who had responded to my initial non/emergency discussion on the talk page verified that the site appeared safe.

However, not wanting to lose another browser I decided I would not click on it again to see if it was working and safe to put back up. Whoever wants it up would need to be aware of the possibility that whatever malware crashed my system might or might not have been fully removed.
