This article states that this Sir Hugh was both 2nd and 10th Earl of Devon; a note of explanation would be helpful.125.239.109.62 (talk) 01:50, 1 January 2013 (UTC)[reply]

If you look at Earl of Devon, you will probably see why. I do not in fact see the article as referring to himn as 2nd Earl. It is a question of whether the patent to his father was reviving the earlier earldom or creating a new one. Peterkingiron (talk) 16:01, 1 January 2013 (UTC)[reply]
