Maria Osman[edit]

I want to add new section to this article. I was wondering if i can add women's rights section into Human Right in South Africa's page. Maria Osman (talk) 09:27, 18 March 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Editing Article[edit]

I plan to add an education section, a post apartheid section, and a labor section. I also plan to add some information to the political rights section.

More specifically, My proposal is to revise the “Human Rights in South Africa” page, and the “South Africa” page. On the “Human Rights in South Africa” page I intend to add sections concerning Education, Post apartheid issues, and issues with human rights in the workplace. Under the education heading, I plan to have a subheading pertaining to children with disabilities. Similarly, under the post apartheid issues heading, I plan to create a subheading for poverty and socioeconomic issues. Furthermore, for the human rights in the workplace heading, I plan to focus on how employees are treated and their benefits from companies. Additionally, I would add a section on human rights to the South Africa page. This section would focus most heavily on poverty, but I would mention other human rights violations as well. I would also provide a link to the “Human Rights in South Africa” article.

Patience456 I think that your article has progressed very nicely! You have added a lot of well-sourced, informative content. However, in some sections, I think you could add a greater variety of sources to represent a wider range of views. I would also suggest linking to other articles more within the text of your article to integrate this article more with the rest of Wikipedia. I like the addition of the illustration, but I would suggest changing either the picture or the caption to better reflect the crowded conditions in South African hospitals. Many of your sentences have similar sentence structure, so I would suggest varying your sentences a little more to make your article flow better. Overall, you did a great job, and I look forward to seeing the final product.Jwang19 (talk) 18:28, 4 November 2015 (UTC)[reply]

Reviews[edit]

Hello! I am a fellow Wikieditor in your class, and your article looks amazing so far! I would work on your sourcing, as this article could be highly improved if it utilized more sources to back up the data, instead of using one or few sections per section. Other than that, however, I feel that this article has high readability, formatting, and great information. Another suggestion I might make is to add more illustrations so the audience can visualize what is happening at South Africa. Some of the wording you have seem to implicitly support the idea that South Africans are repressed by the government, so make sure you justify those by citations! Keep it up! Another Review[edit]

Hey! You have immensely improved this article by adding in the section on Labor Rights and improving the Education section. The overall article has been greatly improved by your contributions. I think one of the most important things for you to do now is include more citations throughout the article. After each claim you make, it is important for you to add in citations after every sentence. I also think you might want to put subsections under the labor rights section, because it seems like there is a lot of great information there, but it would be easier to follow if it was split up a bit. You've done a great job so far! Annkat22 (talk) 14:05, 22 October 2015 (UTC)[reply]

More Reviews[edit]

Overall this article is good, I think in order to make it even better I would recommend adding to the sub-section on same-sex marriage and rape issues. I would also recommend adding a more extensive section on history and moving the apartheid era section to be a sub section within the history section. I would also recommend adding more photos and blue links to bring more traffic to your page. Lnicholson14 (talk) 12:50, 4 November 2015 (UTC)[reply]
