Strengths[edit]

  • Has map
  • Has already developed many sections suggested at WikiProject Cities
  • Has updated to 2006 census information :-)

Dates?[edit]

Apart from the granting of city status in 2000, there are no dates for the events described in this article. Is Humboldt in a time warp? —Preceding unsigned comment added by 71.17.154.153 (talk) 00:40, 2 August 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Cleanup[edit]

Oh dear... where to start? Unfortunately, there are a lot of issues with this article.

  • Entire sections contain non-relevant content that could apply to any community in Saskatchewan, not just Humboldt. The whole Climate section, except for the weather data, talks about the province as a whole with nothing specific to Humboldt. Likewise, about half the Economy section talks about the province's economy, not the city's. It's all just pointless filler.
  • A lot of the Attractions, Facilities & Services, and Sports sections can be condensed. The tone seems way too promotional. I see that many edits were done by the user "Tourismhumboldt", which is a pretty obvious suggestion of his/her motivation. It reads more like puffery and civic boosterism than objective fact.
  • Many items cite the city of Humboldt's web site as a source, but just point to the home page. This doesn't actually verify the information being tagged, so it fails the verifiability test. One should have the supporting document after just one click - it shouldn't require the user to search further.

2016 census data added, some areas could use investigation[edit]

I added population data from the 2016 census. Noticed that the land area seems out of whack, but didn't change it. The census says land area is 2.73 sq km. The article previously said the total area was 11.66 sq km. I don't know where that number came from, but left it for others to look into. Source: 2016 census

Also out of whack was the 2011 population reported in the article: 5,678, while the 2016 census says the previous population was 4,795. I didn't add any further to the demographics discussion but this area needs investigation.
