Initial creation[edit]

Sorry, I created this description of the Humboldt Range, but I don't know how to add citations. But if you look at a topographic map like Delorme's, you can see that Unionville lies on the east side of the Humboldt Range. I am having trouble finding a url that specifically documents this at the moment; I'm just going by my own personal visit there and what I can see on a topo map. —Preceding unsigned comment added by Natronacounty (talk • contribs)

Did you see that the articles West Humboldt Range and East Humboldt Range also exist? I didn't read them all the way through, but maybe this article should be merged into the two of them, or maybe they should be merged into this article. I really know nothing about this subject, so I can't make that decision, but it is something that should probably be considered. Rising*From*Ashes (talk) 06:46, 8 August 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Well, I know it would seem like my description should fall under one of the two entries you mentioned, but actually there is a discrepancy here between what you would expect and how the Nevada mountain ranges are actually named. The West Humboldt Range is adjacent to (immediately to the west of) the range I am describing; however, for some strange reason, the East Humboldt Range is way over on the eastern side of Nevada next to the Ruby Mountains and is completely separate from the West Humboldts and the Humboldt Range. The wikipedia article for the East Humboldt Range substantiates this claim, and you can also probably see what I mean if you look at an atlas that labels the various ranges of Nevada. That is why I created this entry for the Humboldt Range because I don't think it is covered by either of the ones you mentioned. I grew up in Nevada and checked out the Humboldts and West Humboldts at times with my dad; otherwise, I probably would be oblivious to the whole thing. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 207.55.25.161 (talk) 06:17, 14 August 2008 (UTC)[reply]
