Meloe pustulatus merge[edit]

Meloe pustulatus has sources (and the entire text aside from the title) referring to Mylabris pustulata, which redirects here. Content from that article should be merged here. Plantdrew (talk) 19:36, 23 March 2022 (UTC)[reply]

Current name[edit]

@Plantdrew: I note your 2021 move of Mylabris pustulata to Hycleus pustulatus. Do you have evidence for the new name? The databases still seem to be sticking with Mylabris. If the scientific consensus doesn't support the move, perhaps a technical move back to Mylabris pustulata? For context, I came to this through the merge proposal listed above, merging from Meloe pustulatus, which none of the sources accept as the correct name. I'm not a plant expert, so apologies in advance if I've missed something obvious! Klbrain (talk) 14:02, 30 December 2022 (UTC)[reply]

Certainly if Hycleus pustulatus is not '''''Hycleus pustulatus''''' in the lede something is wrong. Invasive Spices (talk) 30 December 2022 (UTC)
Several of the pictures show Hycleus phaleratus (and related species). It is a mess. - see https://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pmc/articles/PMC4294299/ Shyamal (talk) 17:56, 31 December 2022 (UTC)[reply]
According to doi:10.1080/00222930110062318 page 46 it should be Hycleus pustulatus. Shyamal (talk) 18:10, 31 December 2022 (UTC)[reply]
