In fact, Jesus said, "Take; eat; this is my body." This quotation is not an example of hysteron proteron at all and should thus be removed from the definition.
Hysteron proteron as a form of tautology (in logic) anyone? --134.184.67.185 10:35, 19 March 2007 (UTC)
Ave, Caesar...[edit]
. A similar example is found in the Roman "gladiatorial salute" "Ave Imperator, morituri te salutant" ("Hail Emperor, those who are about to die salute you").
I removed this from the article, because I fail to see where this can be an example of hysteron proteron: the consecution of events described in the phrase is perfectly consistent with time. -79.185.197.68 (talk) 09:37, 16 April 2014 (UTC)

Because the Arabic conjunction "wa" (and) does not indicate sequentiality or cause-and-effect relation, which is the function of another conjunction, "fa" (and then). "Wa" merely indicates contextual association (time-space or otherwise) void of any order. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 156.197.33.89 (talk) 22:14, 19 November 2015 (UTC)
the common reference to putting on one's "shoes and socks", rather than "socks and shoes".[edit]
Is this an idiom? a brief explanation should be added for non native speakers --Backinstadiums (talk) 12:55, 4 December 2019 (UTC)
