  • ... that two suicide stories contributed to the cult following of the song "I'm God", by Clams Casino and Imogen Heap (pictured)? Source: Balram, Dhruva (2020-05-07). "The Dark Internet History of Clams Casino's Cult Song 'I'm God'". Vice. Retrieved 2023-12-25.

  • Comment: I recommend striking through ALT0, as it's an urban legend with no evidentiary basis behind it, and even saying there are "two suicide stories" surrounding it is silly. The 2014 and 2015 suicides have almost no connection to the song. If there was a more substantial source about the urban legend, then you might have better support for the hook, but as it stands right now, this is like saying Kurt Cobain killed himself because of the Dreamachine. I don't think a claim this weak should be on the main page. Viriditas (talk) 09:10, 26 January 2024 (UTC)[reply]
    @Viriditas: done. Skyshiftertalk 12:31, 26 January 2024 (UTC)[reply]
  • @Skyshifter: I like ALT1, and I find it interesting, but do you want to play around with it or come up with more hooks, or is this as far as you want to go? Did it take 11 years because he had to get the rights to the sample? If so, maybe consider creating a new hook with that info, as it's fascinating. You've also got a lot of great potential hooks in the article. For example, the song is considered the birth of cloud rap, etc. Viriditas (talk) 18:34, 26 January 2024 (UTC)[reply]
  • I am not very creative when it comes to hooks, lol. But you did bring some good ideas. I will write other hooks very soon. Skyshiftertalk 18:53, 26 January 2024 (UTC)[reply]

@Viriditas: here are some other hooks! Skyshiftertalk 23:00, 26 January 2024 (UTC)[reply]

@Skyshifter: Thank you, I will complete a review now. Please think about removing the link to "instrumental" as it is a common term. You can choose to keep it, of course, as it's just a recommendation. I like ALT2 and ALT3, but I think if you shortened ALT2 I could almost prefer it to ALT3. Perhaps something like "... that "I'm God" took eleven years for Clams Casino to release because he had to obtain permission for the sample of Imogen Heap's "Just for Now"?" That's just an example of what I'm talking about; I don't intend for you to use it, but rather to create something along those lines; or not. Review in progress... Viriditas (talk) 23:52, 26 January 2024 (UTC)[reply]
I've removed "an instrumental" altogether in all hooks. I did your suggestion but added "officially", because it received a release before, but unofficial. Skyshiftertalk 00:20, 27 January 2024 (UTC)[reply]
Understood, but I'm not supposed to review a nomination when my own hook is used. So what I will do is some copyedits on the article and ask for another reviewer to finish up. Viriditas (talk) 00:27, 27 January 2024 (UTC)[reply]
Bruh. I didn't know that was a thing. Skyshiftertalk 01:37, 27 January 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Needs new reviewer. Viriditas (talk) 00:27, 27 January 2024 (UTC)[reply]

@Viriditas: The hook has been vastly modified. I believe you can review it now (if you wish, of course) Skyshiftertalk 17:15, 27 January 2024 (UTC)[reply]
Don't worry, I think everything looks good now. I will make a request on the main talk page for another reviewer. Viriditas (talk) 20:41, 29 January 2024 (UTC)[reply]
Long enough, new enough. I agree that ALT2 and ALT3 are more interesting than ALT4 and ALT5; I would possibly truncate ALT2 at "release" because 'why' is the intriguing bit, but I'll let a prepbuilder make that decision. (And there's a redirect in ALT4 anyway!) No neutrality issues found, no maintenance templates found, QPQ unnecessary. I really am sorry to keep you waiting but Earwig is currently down, and I'd like to run it on the article before I approve it.--Launchballer 21:14, 29 January 2024 (UTC)[reply]
Earwig is still giving me gip, but what I have noticed is that there appear to be several unattributed quotes in the article.--Launchballer 05:09, 30 January 2024 (UTC)[reply]
I couldn't find any, so please point it out. I do think there is excessive quoting and an attempt should be made to paraphrase more. Viriditas (talk) 07:45, 30 January 2024 (UTC)[reply]
Never mind, I kept missing them because they lacked where they said it, and looking it at now many of them are uncontroversial enough to not need quotes anyway.--Launchballer 10:48, 30 January 2024 (UTC)[reply]
Earwig is working now and it looks like there are some issues that need to be resolved. Viriditas (talk) 19:35, 30 January 2024 (UTC)[reply]
@Launchballer:. I think I fixed all of the problems.[1] Ready for approval? Viriditas (talk) 00:25, 31 January 2024 (UTC)[reply]
I've just kept the "freaked out" quote because that's how Clams Casino refer to Lil B's reaction specifically in all sources, or as "flipping out". In Vice, "he just kind of freaked out". In Complex, "he just flipped out". In Red Bull Music Academy, "he freaked out. He flipped." So having that quote better represents Volpe's description of Lil B's reaction. Skyshiftertalk 02:20, 31 January 2024 (UTC)[reply]
In terms of DYK guidelines, this is good to go.--Launchballer 13:48, 31 January 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Consistent use of name[edit]

It's not clear what the naming convention should be. Many sources refer to him as Clams Casino, Clams, or just Volpe. The convention on Wikipedia is to use the full name once and then the last name for subsequent usage, however, it may be an exception to use Clams or Volpe, I don't know. Whatever you decide, choose one and use it. Viriditas (talk) 00:38, 27 January 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Copyedited to use "Volpe". Skyshiftertalk 01:45, 27 January 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Well, that's certainly a bold claim. λ NegativeMP1 04:58, 4 April 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Prose[edit]

  • Add "(2012)" after Instrumentals 2 in Background and release
    • I don't think it's needed, as the phrase says Volpe released it "The next year..." (after a sentence situated in 2011)
  • "Paul Simpson of AllMusic said that the vocals, which bring a cave-like, dank atmosphere," Possibly needs to be attributed / put in quotations
    • Done

Media[edit]

  • Both the infobox image and the audio sample are warranted, and are justified by fair use.
  • Preferably add alt text to the image of Heap.
    • Done

Source spotcheck[edit]

  • Spotchecked some uses of refs #3 and #5, seems to verify article text.

Final comments[edit]

Extremely well written article on an interesting subject, and I have few complaints. I'll have no issue passing this article once the two extremely minor issues I noticed above are addressed. λ NegativeMP1 05:20, 4 April 2024 (UTC)[reply]

@NegativeMP1: Thank you! Responded. Skyshiftertalk 10:17, 4 April 2024 (UTC)[reply]
Above comments look good, but I'm going to take a second look later today. I reviewed this article in forty minutes, the fastest I've ever reviewed an article, and I want to make sure I didn't miss anything. Hopefully that's okay with you. λ NegativeMP1 15:58, 4 April 2024 (UTC)[reply]
Yep, that's fine. No rush. Skyshiftertalk 16:28, 4 April 2024 (UTC)[reply]
@NegativeMP1: any updates? Skyshiftertalk 21:45, 7 April 2024 (UTC)[reply]
I was out of the house for a little bit there and I ended up forgetting to get back to this. I'll take a second look soon, I apologize for the wait. λ NegativeMP1 21:49, 7 April 2024 (UTC)[reply]
