Spelling[edit]

If Lisa were really thinking, she would have known that "g" before an a, o, or u almost always has a hard sound, while "g" before an e or i usually, especially in words of Latin or Greek origin, has a soft sound. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 142.161.178.249 (talkcontribs)

And she wasn't thinking. I mean, honestly. oTHErONE 10:03, 7 August 2006 (UTC)[reply]

At the start of the episode, Lisa is told to spell a word. But how does she know wether to spell "impugn" or "impune"? Both are homophones. -85.176.246.119 (talk) 18:13, 17 January 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Parody[edit]

Was there a scene where Lisa parodies the run up the Rocky Steps? Should it be listed here? --evrik 14:50, 27 September 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Family Guy reference[edit]

Does anyone else think that when Marge says she can teach piano to pay for Lisa's college, it is a reference to the fact that Lois teaches piano on Family Guy? I thought that since Family Guy always steals from the Simpsons, they may have decided to return the favour.Ijustwantaaccount 01:11, 20 October 2007 (UTC)[reply]

That's a pretty spurious reference and would definitely need a reference. – PeeJay 20:16, 19 February 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Fair use rationale for Image:EABF07.jpg[edit]

Image:EABF07.jpg is being used on this article. I notice the image page specifies that the image is being used under fair use but there is no explanation or rationale as to why its use in this Wikipedia article constitutes fair use. In addition to the boilerplate fair use template, you must also write out on the image description page a specific explanation or rationale for why using this image in each article is consistent with fair use.

Please go to the image description page and edit it to include a fair use rationale. Using one of the templates at Wikipedia:Fair use rationale guideline is an easy way to insure that your image is in compliance with Wikipedia policy, but remember that you must complete the template. Do not simply insert a blank template on an image page.

If there is other fair use media, consider checking that you have specified the fair use rationale on the other images used on this page. Note that any fair use images lacking such an explanation can be deleted one week after being tagged, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you.

Spelling error[edit]

Punshing instead of punishing. Also calling the movie bad feels more like opinion than fact.

Racial tone of a small section[edit]

# Apu's back to school sale (and to some extent the Ribwich commercial) are similar in tone to the patriotic commercials that were popular on TV following September 11. Unfortunately, Apu's plea to Springfieldians to not beat him up anymore also reflects the numerous attacks on Indians (particularly Sikhs) who were beaten and in some cases killed after being misidentified as Arabs or Muslims.

So, had these Indian/Sikh people who were beaten and in some cases killed actually been Arabs or Muslims, the heinous racial acts committed against them would have been justified - right? That is exactly the way this statement is coming across.

Racist people, please keep your personal opinions out of Wikipedia when editing articles, even small articles about Simpson's episodes, a show that doesn't advocate racism. This kind of thing is NPOV. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 220.101.129.116 (talk) 16:40, 13 July 2008 (UTC)[reply]
