What is the ICD-11 CDDG?[edit]

I have just removed this paragraph from the article:

When I first wrote the above paragraph, the ICD-11 contained only brief summaries of mental disorders. For example, see Schizophrenia (6A20) from the 2022 version from the 2021 version. However, I only just discovered that in the 2023 edition (currently the latest), the WHO has added full diagnostic criteria and extensive clinical information to the mental disorder entries, e.g. Schizophrenia (6A20).

So then what was the ICD-11 CDDG supposed to be in the first place? I initially assumed that, similar to the ICD-10 CDDG (the "Blue Book"), it was an expansion of the ICD-11 mental disorder chapter. But then again... the ICD-11 is supposed to be fully digital, unlike the ICD-10, which was first published as books in the 1990s. If the ICD-11 is digital, then why not have the full information within the digital ICD-11? Indeed, this is what the WHO appears to have done now. But then what was the point of announcing a separate ICD-11 CDDG system? That doesn't make sense... unless the ICD-11 CDDG has now been silently incorporated into the ICD-11. Those diagnostic requirements for mental disorders, they *are* the ICD-11 CDDG.

So once again, the WHO has made things convoluted, vague, and unclear. I have removed the paragraph from the article, and replaced it with a short note that, in the 2023 version of the ICD-11, the WHO has added diagnostic criteria and clinical info to the mental disorder entries. Ok... now I'm really confused. When I wrote the above comment, the URLs looked like this:

I must say, this is an improvement. What isn't an improvement is that the WHO *removed* the diagnostic criteria and clinical info from the mental disorder entries! I kid you not! As can be seen via the URLs above, the extensive info is in the 2024, 2023, and 2022 versions. Earlier ICD versions do not have it.
I'm gonna assume that this extensive information on mental disorders *is* the ICD-11 CDDG. I initially thought it was going to be a book, similar to the DSM-5. But the only official book I found about mental disorders and the ICD-11 is this, set to be released on 30 April 2024. - Manifestation (talk) 15:58, 25 February 2024 (UTC)[reply]
