Podzilla 2[edit]

The new version is now the official release, the name may have changed, but the feature mentioned, modularity, is in operation, and several of the filenames on their wiki call the current version #2

This is all very old information.[edit]

All of this needs to be updated. There have been multiple significant changes since the last update. Many of them are highly important regarding both the current status and future plans of the project. I will discuss this with the iPodLinux community soon and we will draw up a new article for Wikipedia so that users will be able to see just how far the iPodLinux project has progressed. 4th Generation = ipod photo[edit]

In the compatibility section, the table has two rows for the same iPod. The 4th gen iPod is the iPod photo.[1] I would just delete one of the rows but the information is different. YaanchSpeak! 16:37, 15 April 2007 (UTC)[reply]

There is a monochrome screened iPod (which is referred to as the "4th Generation iPod") and then a similar iPod with a color screen, referred to as the "iPod photo" or "iPod with color display". Go to the main iPod article for more information. AquaStreak (talk) 20:06, 20 June 2008 (UTC)[reply]

BIOs[edit]

Maybe the article should at least mention that ipodlinux displays the BIOs, you have to at least admit it takes ages to boot up... —Preceding unsigned comment added by 209.175.17.2 (talk) 15:07, 29 October 2007 (UTC)[reply]

First off, it's "BIOS" (the last S stands for "System"). And it only takes about 10 seconds to boot up.. much like the iPod's standard firmware, which shows an Apple logo in place of the BIOS code. AquaStreak (talk) 20:08, 20 June 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Change compatibility list?[edit]

I would like to point out the change made by Thumperward on Dec 25, 2007. The change had to do with the presentation of the compatibility chart, however, I think it was more readable before. I am therefore proposing that the list be reverted to it's previous format (keeping all changes to data, and the surrounding article, of course.) ~10nitro (talkcontribs) 03:14, 23 June 2008 (UTC)[reply]

I'm going to go ahead and change it ~ 10nitro (talk) 20:15, 26 June 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Is iPodLinux dead?[edit]

Their site is down with "suspended page" somewhere in the URL. Something's going on... Ginbot86 (talk) 02:44, 15 August 2008 (UTC)[reply]

It has been like this for several months now. I have no idea what is going on. I couldn't find an answer. AquaStreak (talk) 16:17, 16 August 2008 (UTC)[reply]
Server is finally being put online. It should be up by the first of October, 2008.--Yorgle (talk) 03:29, 26 September 2008 (UTC)[reply]
2nd of November 2010 - Still offline! It's dead! 92.72.225.234 (talk) 11:49, 2 November 2010 (UTC)[reply]
Isn't freemyipod supposed to taking up the slax ... Who's in charge of that & where is the sourceforge link ??

It lives! http://www.ipodlinux.org/Special_Recentchanges.html — Preceding unsigned comment added by 109.151.31.133 (talk) 13:35, 5 February 2018 (UTC)[reply]

freemyipod.org[edit]

Although this is a link on the main page I think this merits it's own page and progress table for the followers. Oh, & do an ohloh.net link too ! — Preceding unsigned comment added by 178.16.4.192 (talk) 20:37, 1 July 2012 (UTC)[reply]

touch/iPhone[edit]

It says they won't develop for the touch or iPhone. Is it seriously necessary to add a new row to the chart for each one? Personally, I don't think they should be there at all, but if it is consensus/Vox Populi to mention them, then fine. But adding each new generation? ~ 10nitro (talk) 05:11, 28 September 2008 (UTC)[reply]

3rd and 4th Gen Nano's[edit]

The nano, starting with 3G, can view videos, and thus has a video out capability. I understand that iPodLinux does not support these gens, but the compat table should be changed to show that these iPod's have video out capability.

P.S: I have an account but i can't remember my username and i can't access my Gmail from school to look it up.

The table shows the capabilities of iPodLinux, not the iPods themselves. If the iPod [hardware] itself does not support something, then we would use {{n/a}}. ~ 10nitro (talk) 20:18, 9 October 2008 (UTC)[reply]
[edit:]So the {{no}} in that column for 2nd gen should be {{n/a}}, I'll do that in a redone version of the table I'm working on (sortable, better footnotes, easier to sync with the one at their wiki)

SansaLinux[edit]

iPodLinux have been ported to Sandisk Sansa by the SansaLinux project using code and bootloader from Rockbox. Then the project is no longer iPod excusive. Somebody may want to add this information in the article.Godot (talk) 01:41, 13 March 2009 (UTC)[reply]

The project is still iPod exlusive, SansaLinux is a fork, and an entirely different project, it may deserve a mention, though. ~ 10nitro (talk) 18:51, 4 June 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Newer iPod potential[edit]

It is currently possible on most newer models to have CFW, it may want to be amended on the table that this is possible but there is no port: http://l4n.clustur.com/index.php/Status —Preceding unsigned comment added by 78.86.93.247 (talk) 18:00, 3 July 2010 (UTC)[reply]
