IUnknown is not an ActiveX component.

The sentence "A component which implements IUnknown is sometimes called an ActiveX component" is misleading. An ActiveX component typically supports many other interfaces, usually comes in a specific package, etc. IUnknown is base of all COM components, many of which are not ActiveX components (eg. shell extensions, UMDF drivers, IFilters, you name it). —Preceding unsigned comment added by Jachymko (talk • contribs)

I will agree that it is misleading. However, removing that sentence removed every single instance of "ActiveX" from the article including an off-page citation, which is just as bad. A better alternative would be to reword the sentence, which I will do myself tonight sometime if nobody else does. Zab (talk) 23:42, 9 February 2008 (UTC)

Equivalence relation

The article mentions that a component's interface must exhibit the reflexive, symmetric, and transitive properties. This sounds odd, and I can't find any information about it anywhere. Is it just made to be an analogue of equivalence relations as a sort of mnemonic aid? Surement (talk) 17:39, 14 March 2014 (UTC)
